Share the Love

Has anyone else found the social impact space to be challenging to navigate? Where do you even start when looking for a job in social impact? It's unfortunately not very straightforward.

What search terms do you use? CSR? Social Impact? Corporate Citizenship? Sustainability? Community Engagement? ESG? Corporate Philanthropy? The list goes on. Where do you look for jobs? What communities and networks should you join? Who should you be talking to? Do you need connections to get a job??

Anyone else's head spinning?!

It should not be this hard to break into social impact!

To help make your job search and community building a *little bit* easier, and for those recently impacted by layoffs, I've put together a Social Impact Job Search + Career Resources spreadsheet, which is editable and ever-growing. I encourage you to add any resources you're aware of to this list, and share it around to job seekers and those looking to build their community/expand their network.

The more we can share the love and support one another, the greater collective impact we can make.

Social impact inherently shouldn't be competitive or inaccessible. Rather, it should be easy to navigate, equitable, inclusive, diverse, and centralized/unified. Let's do our part to support all those wanting a meaningful career of impact, purpose, and social change. How can you do your part? Make connections for those impacted by layoffs. Talk to a young professional or career pivoter about your journey. Post social impact jobs and helpful resources as you come across them. Offer informational interviews as your time allows.

It would bring me *so* much joy to see this spreadsheet take off and reach all those passionate about social impact! Let's share the love this Valentine's season and make the social impact space more open and accessible.

The more people doing good, the better!

A note to job seekers: If you are looking for tailored 1:1 support, I offer a three-month social impact career coaching package and I'm currently accepting new clients. Happy to discuss further!
